Meet The Staff
Debbie H. – Administrative Coordinator
My career started at the University of Maryland Dental Assisting Program from 1981 to 1982. After graduation I worked with a group practice in Lansdowne, Maryland until 1984. I progressed to another group practice where I met Dr. Murphy and worked as his chairside assistant. When he started his own practice in Towson he asked me if I would come and work with him. I became his office manager pretty much as soon as I walked into the door. I returned to school to become a certified dental office manager and I am a member of the American Association of Dental Office Managers.
It has been an amazingly wonderful journey to work with our patients and staff. It is like spending my work day with family and friends.
My husband and I decided to move to Pennsylvania almost 20 years ago and to try our hands at part-time farming. We bought a small farm and started with chickens. We sell free range natural eggs. We have had goats as well, wonderfully funny animals that we loved. We also have ducks, a dog, and a cat. We plant a small vegetable garden in the spring and sometimes we are lucky and actually get produce. I paint furniture and try my hand at primitive style crafts. We have a son and daughter-in-law with three beautiful granddaughters to share the fun when they come to visit. My exercise is helping my husband run the farm. It has been a wonderful challenge.
Stacey S. – Registered Dental Hygienist
Hello! I’m Stacey, a hygienist at Dr. Barry Murphy’s office. I have been a member of Dr. Murphy’s team since beginning my career as a hygienist in 1993. My career began as a dental assistant and I soon decided to return to school to pursue a degree in dental hygiene. I absolutely love my career! Dr. Murphy is incredibly talented, artistic dentists with a clinical expertise and level of patient care that is unparalleled. The team here provides such a warm, friendly, and comfortable atmosphere for all. With the latest research demonstrating a strong correlation between oral and systemic health, I feel it is part of my responsibility to pass this valuable information onto our patients. I enjoy working with each patient on an individual basis to provide them with the resources and knowledge to obtain optimal dental health.
Outside of the office, my husband Kurt and I are busy with our two lovely girls, Madison and Brooke. We share our home with three dogs and two cats. We all enjoy spending time at the beach and taking our dogs for a swim whenever possible.
Angela B. – Certified Dental Assistant
Hi, I’m Angela, and I’ve enjoyed being a certified dental assistant since 1993, which is also the time I started working with Dr. Murphy. My responsibilities throughout the office started with assisting, but now include working at the front office, the lab (in house or with outside labs), maintaining equipment and keeping up with supplies so the office can run smoothly. My favorite part of my job is working chair side with Dr. Murphy and patients. It’s always been very rewarding to see a patient so pleased and thankful with the work they’ve had done, whether big or small. It’s my pleasure to help patients in all areas and to make sure they feel comfortable and at ease while they are here.
Outside the office I enjoy spending time with my husband, Bruce. Our two kids are young adults now. Boy, did they grow up quickly! We have two fur babies, a dog and a cat. My husband and I get to hang out more these days since we are empty nesters. We love hiking, camping, or just enjoying time at home working on projects and relaxing. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me.
See ya soon!
